I had to be talked into this one, but now that I've seen it I love it. A Trans Blackburst ABII Flametop. About to ship to Norway.

I wasn't tempting you. I believe a Z2 is now scheduled to make it to your continent in fairly short order. [/quote:3ksjfsym] Is the owner on-list? I don't recall any other Aussies on here. New owner or second-timer?[/quote:3ksjfsym] Hi Callum It's me. I saw Burning Skies had converted from a Z2 to Z3 after it had been routed and jumped at the chance for a Z. I was a bit wimpy first time around, not having tried any Dingwall, and got as cheap an AB1 as I could in case the long scale-length or the fanned frets didn't work for me. Like most others on this board I'm now a complete convert, specially after hanging a Glock pre-amp in the AB. After a lifetime of Jamerson P bass envy I'm even converting to the hi-fi sect, although slapping is probably not in my lifetime... When I spoke to Sheldon about my pre-amp upgrade he almost fainted when I said I wanted to put TI Jazz Flats on my AB1, so I relented but still am trying to convince him I'd like some Chrome Flats on the Z2. I've read here they sound great. Got the Ricky up for sale and the Lakland is next to go.

Until they say something themselves, I shall keep their secret, though!

 :o[/quote:1k4alwea] :? :?: Mark[/quote:1k4alwea] I wasn't sure how I felt about this ABII variant at first, but I've decided I like it. I think a walnut or wenge neck would work better with the blackburst, though. Man, the line between the I and II is steadily blurring. I think it's safe to say that the AB in both trims is possibly on it's way to becoming a custom line all it's own. When the budget model is up and running, maybe we'll see this. I'd like to see the ABI and II return to using the sub plate and indi bridges. I wonder if this could be done as an upgrade to my ABI :? Mark
Now thinking of it, I feel that an international meeting of Dingwall owners should be titled "'I. D.O." meeting (International Dingwall Owners meeting), suggesting yet that we are hooked for life (I am at least)[/quote:3eiwlq8o] I like that! Just wait for me to get my Z3!

Hehehe, yes, it did take a while, I couldn't decide which model and then I also had trouble raising funds in time to grab any good ones that came up. This one was really too good to pass up on, so it has been purchased with temporary Vapour-Funds snuck from my business bank-account. :) I guess that makes sense, as it's *still* only a Vapour-Bass until I have pics to show. ;) Hey, if I can successfully organise a Chapman Stick seminar in a country containing only a dozen Sticks, we should be able to do the same for Dingwall basses within the next year! :) EG

You will be blown away by your Dingwall.
There are so many unique ABIIs out there now and a handful of ABIs too. So much for being the "production line" basses! Nice bass, by the way.[/quote:1l5nd4v4] My pomele bubinga top ABII-5 is starting to feel pretty ordinary!! :)

Looks good, I had no such luck when I asked Sheldon to do an ABII in a colored finish. Maybe I should try again :? haha
