Hey everyone!

I hope your holidays have been wonderful and that your new year is full of success. As for me, I have had the misfortune to be hit with some major Dingwall cravings. To hopefully cure these cravings I have been looking at a lot of Dingwall tops and finishes. I was wondering what top/finish you guys favor. This is probably one of my favorite Dingwall looks.

[img:28ky1czv]https://scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/11082328_972577509432719_6911699065086072865_o.jpg?oh=5c2ca9416808f591b5949e6e4aff27c2&oe=59208282[/img:28ky1czv]

I look forward to seeing the finishes you like best!

I'm looking forward to seeing my new Prima Artist in 2017. That will come with a gloss finish of which is my favorite. I believe it shows off the wood the best! IMO. I'm sitting in the shed as I write this with my candy apple red finish which I love as well. It's a personal decision in the end.

That top is off the hook, and the choice of natural to blackburst makes it absolutely incredible. It would be a great choice indeed.

Ever since first discovering the wonderful functional art by Sheldon Dingwall and crew, I have been a sucker for Whale Pool Blue. When you combine that unique color with an AAAA top, a wenge neck, and make it a burst? Well, you get THIS:

The black finish around the edges really makes that burst pop! Absolutely incredible.

I also think it's awesome that there is an opposite matching second bass to go with the bloodmoon burst! Really sweet.

I'm just a sucker for the Z series body shape.

This is also is pretty incredible. Makes my jaw drop to the floor. I wonder what it would feel like to play on?

The blood moon pair are awesome to be sure. I'm partial to the blue colored finishes. They are the only ones I like more than my own Z3. If I ever get a second one, it'll be blue!

Besides mine of course!!
These 3 are some of my favs. The blood moon and nebula are down right amazing and 2 of my other favourites. The variety of natural wood finishes are also all of my favourites. Those black bursts are also close to my favourites. Some of the amazing blue finishes are also close to my favourites. Lol

So many amazing basses made by the artists/ craftsmen within this company.

Was that Rastaburst the first Z series to have that upper cut in the body? That is probably my favorite body shape out of all of the Dingwalls. That bass is owned by BurningSkies (hisTalkbass name as well) correct? Any one know how the idea of the upper cut in the body came about?

The Rastaburst body shape is the older "cello cut" that was on the early "voodoo/zebra" bases back in the 90's. They stopped making them that way quite a few years ago, but many of us still love that detail and beg Sheldon to bring it back again. It wouldn't have been the first to be done that way, but it's one of the favorites from that generation, to be sure!

I wonder if Sheldon has any plans on bringing the cello cut back?

Wow, Jon, that is seriously a gorgeous bass. Incredible finish!

And congratulations too you as well, Bob! I forgot that I read you picked up the crazy blue burst that you posted earlier. Incredible bass! I can't get over that AAAA top. Please give us an update of when it arrives! Hopefully the wait hasn't been too painful!

Not the correct orange temperature. Warmer. Too much "peach" in the orange. And not "burst". One "colour" with deep, where the yellow nuances come out with the light and angle of watching...

Thanks brother. You KNOW the wait is painful!! They always are. But happy to say the bass is in the US, has cleared customs at JFK, and now I'm waiting to see how it heads out from there. Don't know if they put it on a truck, or a plane to get to Buffalo. Don't know if it will head out tonight, or have to wait until morning. But it is less than a 375 miles away now. :D :P
