Download the ebay toolbar with Account Guard. This will identify spoof sites and re-directing. Use Acount Guard when replying to the message of 2nd offer (to see if the message was sent through the ebay system) and double check that the very same message you received is in your "My Messages" when you log into ebay. Then contact the seller to verify the validity of the 2nd offer. Always use paypal with paypal protection in such cases

The seller is also a member of this board and Talkbass. If you have a hard time getting ahold of him through eBay or email, try to do it by PM. I'm pretty secure in the idea that Funky Carnivore would never sell a Dingwall for 500 bucks.
Actually the auction was setup as a NO reserve auction, which means that the seller was willing to take the highest bid at the end of his 5 day period.
I have no clue as to the validity of the 2nd chance offer, however in truth it really could have been legit.
Funky was taking a chance that this bass would sell for close to what he "expected".

I didn't send any second chance offers, so please beware! ANY second chance offer you receive to buy the blue/green Z1 is not real.
However, in some magical twist of irony, I haven't heard from the high bidder. I might have to relist. In any case, you know what they say about things that sound too good to be true. Sorry that someone tried to scam you--please stay away from any Second Chance Offers allegedly sent on my behalf.

I'm now the proud owner of Funky Carnivore's Z1 and would like to publicly thank his high-bidder from reneging on the auction!
When this was originally up for grabs I couldn't afford the asking price but the Ebay winning bid was quite a bit lower and Funky was good enough to sell for the winning bid price which I could (just) afford.
The Z1 arrived yesterday and I got to use it at rehearsal last night. The action is even lower than my AB1 and I'll need to raise it as I like to dig in a bit. I put a new set of Dingwall strings on and it sounded great. I'm looking forward to gigging it on Saturday.

Hi, Frank. I've got Dingwall in my saved searches on ebay, so I saw it early this morning, like you. Excellent buy-it-now price. I wish we would see some fretless ABs on ebay, then I might go for another one.

I bought my ABI from Byron. I talked to him a few times on the phone and it was a good transaction. He's a really nice guy and the bass was obviously outstanding.
