Any band that tells me I can't use my Dingwalls to play country will be looking for a new bass player  Mark

country music--well seems like he needs to trade his dingwall ABII in for a SuperJ. Keep the Dingwall tone and vibe, but loose the unique shape BTW- The players name is Denis Arsenault and he recorded a tune using his Dingwall ABII "keeping up w/ the jones". I recommend you check it out- the tune is neat in a quirky way- but the bass sounds great http://www.newmusiccanada.ca/genres/art ... d_Id=16908 I have no affiliation w/ the band or player- just we are always looking for recorded examples of Dingwalls

I'd bet a steak dinner that Lee Sklar has used his Dingwalls on a bunch of big name country sessions with stellar results. IRT the Ebay auction for $2900, I've heard quotes less than that for an exact dupe of that DW ABII brand new.

Somebody really wanted that guitar bad... $3000 plus $100 shipping. Canadians only too, now that I read the ad. Reckon that's $3100 Canadian?

New knobs...wonder if it has the passive treble cut? Don't buy his reason for selling. AB-II can do a pretty darned good 'vintage sound'! good price, tho.

At least he's sticking with Dingwall by looking for a SuperJ.

Actually, looking at that last auction that went for 3 grand, I'll betcha that's an e-bay scammer... 0 feedback on an unregistered user. Edit: Yep, that ABII in Canada got relisted. And before anybody asks, I had to go ahead and grab that New York ABII... the price was too good!

[quote="Dragonlord":3mh4tatp]OK, not ebay, but there's a Super J at TB: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthrea ... ost3435198[/quote:3mh4tatp] That's exactly the one I want! (but with new knobs and rear loading batteries). Too bad, I don't have the money for it right now.

Wow. New body style Prima Artist 5 on eBay. This will be fun to watch, but starting bid is too high, IMO. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... :B:SS:US:1 Mark

wow- wow- woooooow Awesome looking prima Artist- but IMO the guys nuts to think it will sell for what he paid for it (or 500 less). I hope it does sell- BUT i suspect we'll see it again next week at a lower price. I could be wrong

I was actually thinking that the Buy It Now seemed reasonable, considering what the bass would cost new. Plus, no wait--and the woods in that bass are friggin' AMAZING. I could sell my truck and get this bass, then sell my AB-I to buy an inexpensive car... Kinda tempting, but not something that I can realistically do. And really, I'm not sure I'd have the balls to cut loose and really play on that bass. I'd be worried about it all the time. Kind-of like when someone parks their Rolls-Royce WAAAAY out in the corner of the parking lot. But it's still tempting. John
