I bought this bass after playing it at BassNW despite not liking black basses. It became my number one bass shortly thereafter. When Dingwall announced the ability to get the Super P's with a bridge pickup I jumped at the chance as I knew if I had that bass it would be the only bass I needed. So I ordered a PJ in a non-black finish (yay!) in the same body and neck woods and I'm happy to report that the basses are virtually equals in sound and playability, so now I can pass this one on. This is a Z style Super P, which they no longer do. Main thing that this implied was an Ash body with a matte open-grained finish, similar to the ABZ basses they currently make. The bass is insanely light and well balanced at just under 8lbs, its a pleasure to play. (Its actually a pound lighter than its replacement!) No scratches or dings on this despite me doing my best to make it happen. There is one small issue on the back of the neck where there is some dark discoloration from the neck support of my Mono gig bag. I'm pretty sure that this could be polished off if it bothers you, but It never did me so I left it alone. Ash Body Maple Neck, Board Matte black finish Tone-Fusion tone control, Mid-point down is a traditional treble roll off, Mid-Point up is a passive midscoop, very cool Black Pearl Guard Dingwall Levy's GigBag No trades as I have my dreambass, $2300 shipped in the US. Discounts available for local Chicagoland cash deals. Its pretty subtle and there is no change of feeling.
