I'm selling my Dingwall Prima 6 String. I'm the original owner; I've had the bass since I custom ordered it and had it delivered in January of 2003. The bass has been extremely well cared for. The specs are:

-37" to 33.25" scale lengths
-Pau Ferro fretboard
-5-piece maple neck
-24 frets
-Pau abalone small block markers
-Redwood Lace Burl top and back
-Flamed maple accents on top and back
-FD-1 Pickups in Redwood lace burl/flamed maple/walnut covers
-Aguilar OBP-3 preamp with the BlueEQube circuit and neck/series/parallel/bridge 4 position selector knob
-matching knobs
-matching headstock
-matching control cavity and battery compartment covers
-Detuner on the B string

I don't really know how much this bass would retail for now. It is pretty close to the specs of the Prima Artist series basses which came out shortly after I got this bass. The main exceptions are that the new Prima artists have different neck woods and they have the FD-3.4 pickups. Also, the very new ones have a slightly different body shape (most notably a flipped lower horn).

Anyway, I'm selling the bass for [color=red:1hfy3kou]$3500 USD[/color:1hfy3kou] shipped in North America. I'll get some newer photos up in short order, but for now these are the original photos that Sheldon Dingwall took before shipping the bass. I'll ship it in it's hard shell case. Anyone who's interested can email me at geoff.st.germaine@gmail.com or through PM.

Geoff, I noticed your ad first on TB and was instantly curious. Are you funding a new custom? It is a true beauty, but has one too many strings for me. Best of luck finding a new home it! Anyway, I'm exercising my patience gland waiting on a Zebra...8)

Hi Ken,
I'm not funding a new custom at this time. I believe that a new Dingwall will be in my future, but not in the short term. I've moved into a new house and there are many other things I need to buy in the meantime. A bass like this can take the place of a lot of furniture, so I need to move it for now and worry about owning a bass like this in a couple of years.

Here are the recent pictures. The last one shows two pen tip sized dents in the finish near the controls. They were hard to photo since they only really show up in reflections. They are the only marks I could find in the finish while going over the bass closely.

That is one of my favorite looking basses ever! That's a good price. Good luck with the sale and I hope it goes to a good home.

Wow. And to think - that bass is probably just a few minutes away from me. That is a great price but I'm just starting to pay for my 6-string AB1, which didn't cost much less than that after all the taxes and financing charges. Sigh.

Wow, that was fast.

Congratulations Geoff. I'm sorry to see you leave the fold, you've been a good customer and friend. I completely understand and support your decision though.

By the way, this bass is the prototype Prima Artist. Geoff's input and willingness to experiment came at the right time for us to spread our wings a bit and raise the bar on the Prima design.

Congratulations on the new house. Some things are worth some sacrifices.

Gorgeous looking bass, though. Knowing that this bass is the Artist Prima prototype there is no wonder of it's beauty, ergonomics and sound combined.
