I thought member might get a kick out of something I ran across at Amazon:

A tie that says "I (heart) Dingwall"

Ha, I love it!

Especially that it has "...sublimated artwork."

And that it's made from, "High quality, silky touch, snow white polyester".

Classy!

A search on ebay turns up tons of Dingwall stuff. I nearly won a very nice vintage Dingwall wrist watch a while back, but I was out bid.

Is there another Dingwall brand I don't know about, or is this all about the town in Scotland?

It's about the town, and peoples surnames. There have been famous, and infamous, Dingwalls throughout history. Search David Dingwall sometime. He's quite a character. Not sure what Canadians think of him.

I'm pretty sure that the Dingwall name carried some weight with regard to Scottish nobility and rule in the recent and distant past. Lord Sheldon Dingwall. That has a nice ring to it.

So, it seems some Canuck named Dingwall used to make watches years ago. I did some research on him, but have forgotten the details since. I have a small collection of vintage watches and this would have been a great addition for less than $100. It was a beauty, and I haven't seen another. I missed the end of the auction and lost by $1. :(

I vaguely remember that scandal (excessive expense claims while he was the president of the Canadian Mint).
