Got the news yesterday afternoon, and finalized everything today. Dingwall Custom 1 #1 is on it's way to a new home... mine. I cannot say enough about the photos. The bush fire burst in the gallery, http://www.dingwallguitars.com/guitars/ ... i-gallery/ is mine. Here is another shot from the bench. You can really see the top grain here.

Now the wait for the truck begins. Gonna be a long few days I think. Sooo... home run or what?

Very nice! I like the inlays and the how the bars are incorporated as the side "dots".

It arrived today and it is spectacular. This type of burst is very hard to get realistic photos of. It is so vibrant in person. Yet has a very vintage look about it. THe red is sooo deep and dark at the edges. I had sent the best picture I could find of the colours I was looking for back near the beginning of this project, and Sheldon NAILED it. In fact is way nicer than I expected.

The guitar plays fantastically well, and has all kinds of tones when stepped through some different settings on my 45W Phaez Jaguar amp head and a 2x12 custom cabinet. Everything from a very Setzeresque growly swagger to hot country twang, thick jazz and dark blues tones, on up to Gibbons grunt and crunch and on through screaming hi-gain sizzle. Very cool. And very balanced in volume from pickup to pickup. The amp's hi gain channel (based on a Dumble HRM) cleans up really well by backing off the Custom 1 volume, or playing softer, without losing any loudness or clarity string to string. The neck profile is very thin front to back, extremely comfortable. The small, light headstock allows for a perfect balance when strapped on.

There is a lot of stuff in this instrument and I've only just touched the very surface.

Home run Sheldon. Out of the park Grand Slam. This guitar is truly a jewel.

THe Custom 1 performed fantastically at our hosted jam last night. Plays and sounds like nothing else I have ever played. Thanks again Dingwall team.

It's not "pro" or anything, just used a digital camera to record it. Here is the Custom 1 through the Phaez Jaguar amp.
