Hi Sheldon - received my new Combustion V4 about a month ago and absolutely love it - a total joy to play and, yes, it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up! One issue, though - I rest my thumb on the B string and the tip of it rubs against the pick guard. The finish immediately began to wear off, and now I have a spot larger than a quarter where the top layer is gone. It looks bad, but in addition to that, it seems to be acting as a static electricity generator - I get a lot of crackling as my thumb moves back and forth. Has anyone else reported this issue? Would it be possible to request a replacement pick guard? Thanks much - I'll look for your reply.

What color is your pickguard? I've never heard of this issue before.

I sent you a picture via email. I have the matte black Combustion with the matching black pick guard. Received it on September 25th, so that's just under a month of playing time.

I have the same issue with my CAG Combustion. But no pickguard! Mine is right behind the neck pickup under the B string!!!! I consider it play wear/battle scars!!!!!!
