Hey Dingwall Sales, I was wondering if we can get a fretless replacement neck for the combustion. Thanks, Stanley

Hi Stanley, sorry but we do not offer a fretless neck for the Combustion, only option would be to have a fretted neck defretted. Dingwall Sales

We sell necks to customers with Dingwall basses. We don't supply builders anymore.

This probably shouldn't be on the current "Combustion" thread. I was actually inquiring about the "replacement neck" part, but would a Prima Artist neck fit on an Afterburner 5 string Ser# 3945? There are certain notes where the neck sympathizes with the string (resonate frequency?) and the fundamental dies faster than notes above or below it. I stop short of calling them "dead spots". If you squeeze the neck hard it helps. My thought is that stiffening rods (or steel-weighted rods) might help. Thanks

I'm sorry, Prima Artist (or Z for that matter) necks will not fit Afterburner bodies. What you're describing is a dead spot. They are there on every neck we've ever tested whether it's one of our necks or one of our competitors. Weights and stiffening move the deadspot or spread it out and damp it a bit but nothing we've found will eliminate them entirely.
