Hi Sheldon,

all your 5 strings basses (except super J and super P) have a 18mm strring space.

What would be the cost (if possible to add the option?) of a 19mm string spacing meaning a "wider" neck on a Z model?

Thanks

There may be a slightly wider heel coming in the future for the Z series however making the bridge spacing wider would require new fretslots, inlays, pickup positioning, bridge plates. The cost could easily be 2x or 3x a standard build.

Thanks Sheldon,

exactly what i was afraid of...
I'll try to find a second hand Z and adapt to 18mm.

I was skeptical at first when the spacing was 18 mm, when my other basses always had 19 mm, but it took about as long to adapt to this as for the fan frets: ten minutes or so. Since the Dingwall strings also are a bit slimmer on the bass side than the ones I used before, the difference was even smaller.
