Have you guys seen the blog recently?

I've been on this forum for 4 years, and consistently, when Sheldon shows new things he's done with basses, it's always "Wow, I don't think there could ever be a bass more beautiful than that!" until he makes another. . . It's amazing that Sheldon and his crew have been doing this for so long and STILL find ways to amaze and suprise! Kudos guys! That bass defys description! (In a good way. )

Had the pleasure of meeting Hank Insell a little while back. Really nice, stand-up guy. Great bass player! He was playing with Greg Sczebel in a local mall and I bumped into Sheldon who introduced me. I held his Voodoo, and he played a wicked awesome solo while I was there.

Sheldon, a quick question: Does Hank play with Circ de Soleil? If not, what act is that? It looks facinating!

What does everyone else think of this bass?

I love the red for the body. I would love to have a Super P4 in that color, with a Bird's Eye board and a drop D tuner. Black dots and a black pearloid PG.

I often forget to check the main page and site and the bass of the month. Wow!

I want a red D too! Well, maybe orange... hmmm... that reminds me...

I'll be honest, I'm not a fan. I tend to prefer natural or wood toned basses (little brown bass) and dots (or a fancy inlay) instead of blocks. Naturally I then like the exotic tops (never preferred pickguards).

When I do like color, it is typically blue, purple, or orange. I don't mind the red, but the blocks don't work for me. But that's me. That is what I love about Dingwall basses. There is one for everyone.

This is a show band that he's the MD (Musical Director) for. They're based in Calgary and do high-end corporate gigs that the general public would never hear about.

I think MD is a natural fit for Hank because he's an awesome teacher. He gave me a tennis lesson once that improved my game more than a whole season's worth.

Regarding the blog, it feeds directly to the Dingwall Guitars FB page so anyone interested can subscribe there.

I don't follow a lot of blogs myself but one I do that would appeal to the CNC techy types is CNCcookbook.com I also really like Todd Kerns' comments. He makes you feel like you're right there with him on his adventures.

I was fortunate enough to be at one of Hank's corporate gigs last night, where he was playing his new baby. Looked and sounded stellar, especially for a new instrument he might not be 100% familiar with yet.

Hank gave me permission to post a couple photos. Sorry for the quality -- cell phone, low lighting, lots of people moving around, etc...

He also asked me to tag them with his name, but I'm not on Facebook. Does this mean I need to join? :)

Andrew
