I don't work for this store in Winnipeg. It is Gerg's Music on Portage Avenue. These Dingwalls have been hanging there for months, probably because the store has transformed into a pawn shop and most players looking for high-end instruments don't think of looking there. The prices have been marked down for some time now and this week they dropped even further. If the ABZ were a six-string it would be in my hands right now and my credit card would be shredded. The ABZ has a three-band Glockenklang pre-amp. The Super P is apparently the very same one that was reviewed at Premier Guitar.com last year. If I remember correctly, it is passive. It has two black knobs. I haven't played it recently. Somebody please buy these before I do something stupid. I must resist until I can afford a Z3-6 or ABXXX-6 [url=http://s281.photobucket.com/user/pomoro/media/IMG_0593_zps67d100e5.jpg.html:3cq80m8d][img:3cq80m8d]http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk224/pomoro/IMG_0593_zps67d100e5.jpg[/img:3cq80m8d][/url:3cq80m8d]

That's probably as low as they will go. That's already deeply discounted and it's Canadian dollars. But you can try. Here's their phone number: 204-788-0967

Oh yes. Those basses are all new but they have been hanging there for months. The place started as a music store but it seems to be in the process of becoming a pawn shop. Although the prices are low for Dingwalls, four digits probably seems like a crazy price for any musical instrument to their usual customers. I went there yesterday and saw the white Combustion was gone. One less temptation. Thank you.

Last time I looked, about a week a go, the ABZ and the Super P were still there but the price went back up. If I remember correctly, the ABZ was $2299 or $2399 Canadian. Both Combustions were sold.

I've played both the Super P and the ABZ and both basses are amazing. I bet if someone called them up and made an offer for the "Black Friday" prices they would let them go. I think they have been there close to a year.

I was there again today. The Super P is sold. Only the ABZ remains and that was the only one in the bunch that really tempted me. I played it for about 20 minutes. (They didn't seem to mind.) The truss rod needs just a bit of tightening and I'm sure the strings could be lowered a bit too, but it was still very playable. The ABZ is so solid and punchy even in passive mode but I really got to play with the 3-band Glock EQ this time. I could live on the bridge pickup alone with that EQ. It is just right. I have never owned a Dingwall bass with a Glock. Mine are older models with the Aguilar OBP-1. If you want a five-string, this bass could be your life-long friend. Someone grab it before I surrender. Currently $2299 Canadian
