Well, what do you know, my logon info still works... So I ordered the very first Burgundy Mist Super J and by the date stamp on the photo received it 6 years ago next saturday. I ended up moving it on for various reasons shortly after (one was because it wasn't the color I was wanting). Ran into Sheldon at NAMM this year and played the P5 proto he had for a bit and introduced myself as "the guy who ordered the very first Burgundy Mist Super J". Without mentioning that I had been unhappy with the color he apologized. Probably could have gotten it resolved at the time 6 years ago and had mentioned it to my dealer who placed an order and nothing came of it. In retrospect that was about when things starting going to hell with Steve Barr and no doubt he never took my concerns to Sheldon or Dingwall Sales. I ended up shortly after deciding I wanted to play fivers going forward, so it was an easy decision to move it on. Sheldon also mentioned to me at NAMM if I ever needed anything he "owed" me something. We're square in my book. Went in there specifically to play the Super P5 thinking that if I liked it I might call in the "favor" with Sheldon for a P4. Didn't end up happening because I thought the Super PZ5 was perfect the way it is with the nicest 5 string neck I've ever played.
