I'm not a gear snob. I have Fenders, Fender clones, a Ric that I use regularly. Even my trusty '64 Danelectro Longhorn gets some gig time. They all have roles to fill and they do their "thing" like no other basses will.
However, I [i:236ps2mf]am[/i:236ps2mf] a car snob. Here's mine, current and future, the Challenger coming later this year.

Man, I love that wagon! That's even the color I want! I wish they had kept that car in production.[/quote:236ps2mf]
Well, in typical fashion of the day, shooting themselves in the foot, Dodge introduced the Charger, and that helped kill the Magnum. The Magnum was a controversial design from the beginning - people either loved it or hated it, mostly hated it, I think. In the end, it's all about how you bend the metal (or cut the wood

), and whether people will like how you bent (cut) it. There simply weren't enough of us who thought the Magnum was the coolest car on the planet to keep it alive.
Cars and guitars. It's hard to for me tp separate the two. I guess that's typical of rock and rollers, like it has been since the 50's, at least here in the US. There are other car nuts on the forum, one who has commissioned a special Dingwall, the design inspired by one of the most exotic supercars in the world. Sheldon is, apparently, crazy enough about cars to build it. Rock on, boys.
