I figure this new model deserves it's own thread. Here is the final version of the ABZ. We are using the new Combustion shells, however the pickups are FD-3's. Combustion pickups might be an option for aftermarket mods. This one weighs 8lbs 3oz and is off to Bass Northwest today.

 Wow, what a looker; the non glossy finish really gives it it's own style. I almost wish I hadn't felt the need to upgrade my rig this year so that I could look at buying one of these or a Combustion. I'm sure when my Z comes along though any D.A.S. I feel will be subdued at least for a little while....

+1, I prefer the matte finish. A looker, really. I like it better than most ABIs I've seen. Great success!

Nice lookin' bass, Sheldon. That ash looks great with the grain enhanced and the nice color finish. I'm interested in how these are received by the general public.

Very nice! Now the real question is how do you say it? A B Zee or A B Zed?

Forgive my squirrely ignorance, but what differentiates the ABZ from the other AB models?

Maple fingerboard looks so nice. GAS is building up for an ABZ (fretless??) What's the MSRP on these, if I may ask? (feel free to PM me)

Has anybody heard what the colour options are? I REALLY like that Greenburst Z2 that was recently posted. I think that would look sweet with the maple neck IMO. And if it will be available in a 4 string or not? I know lots of you guys play the 5's and push people to jump to it, but I've tried it and its just not my thing.

Man, do I want one of these badly, but The Combustion nixes that...for now. Mark

My guess is that there will be 4-string versions. It's basically an Afterburner I with a different finish so the body shape and tooling should be setup for it already. A greenburst would be nice.
