Not sure where this question should go, but I figured it would be mostly sales related, so here goes: At what level does one have to be to be considered for a Dingwall endorsement? I've checked out the endorsers page, and some names are huge, while there are others I've never heard of. I'm sure they're all fantastic players - but what qualifications do they have that makes them worthy of an endorsement deal? Does Dingwall give away instruments, or do they provide some sort of discount? Now, I'm not asking because I'm looking for any kind of endorsement deal; I play full time, tour the world and elsewhere, and play about 200+ shows a year - but I already have a Super J and don't want or need any more. I'm just curious as to how the process works at Dingwall - how a company chooses and treats their endorsers says a lot about what that company stands for. What's the story?

Hi Benjamin, Our criteria for endorsement has been that the Artist tour with a National/ International touring act, and/ or be signed to a major label. Some of the players on our website that are not well known have in one way or another contributed to the development of our progress. All endorsees pay for their basses at Dealer cost and receive the same consideration when purchasing strings. I certainly understand the power of the right endorsee, when Lee Sklar tours my phone rings and players from various parts of the planet want to buy a Dingwall (usually a Z). Now here is where we differ from many other manufacturers. Every bass that we make is sold before completion and we remain in a constant backorder situation, as a result trying to increase sales through endorsements has not been a priority. With the advent of our new off-shore bass this will change. I have already spoken to a few players regarding potential endorsements and expect to see this increase. Sheldon and I would like to see a list of impressive players on our Endorsee list some day and expect this to come as we continue to receive more exposure and accolades. Endorsement is about the business of selling basses so each individual that becomes a Dingwall endorsee will have to bring something substantial in the way of increasing sales. Obviously great playing and great tone will be essential to attract attention, a passion for our instruments plus the ability to comprehend and speak intelligently about our basses is all important. Hope this addresses your question. Dingwall Sales
