A new Z2 left the shop today. It's always sad to see them go.

This one is a mix of features from 3 of Lee Sklar's basses.

If anyone is going to Frankfurt Music Messe, this bass will be at the EMP booth.

Sweet. I'm digging the two-tone neck with the colored body.

It is beautiful - but why are the pick ups so close together? Doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose of having two? Thanks

Bill-
Think Musicanman Stingray bass.
Is that giant humbucker a problem. The Z2s are awesome punchy basses

What Frank said.

Plus with the neck most pickup soloed, you get a pretty decent P tone.

It's great to see the Dingwall magic wrapped up in such seductive looks (esp in a Z2 format). I am sure it's one bass that many people will fall in love with.

I'm really digging the 2-tone fret board look. The first one was one of the NAMM Artists, correct? I think that it is a very cool option aesthetically.

Is the 2-tone effect 2 different fret board woods laminated together or are you just bleaching portions of a single fret board wood?

I believe it to be neither. There are a few types of wood that do this naturally, other times its the sap-wood that's lighter, but of the same board.

This bass is so badass that I have to chime in again. Amazing work, Sheldon. Which retailer is this going to?

I`m very happy to tell you that I`m the new owner of this great bass. You all can see how it looks, but I can tell you: the sound and the playability are just amazing.
I have to stop writing right now, the bass is waiting for me...... :D :D :D

Today I met Lee in Cologne, it was great to talk with him. He signed my Z2, and this makes the Bass 100% perfect for me!

Wow, a Sklar autograph. I'd sacrifice one of my Dingwalls to have him sign it, for sure. However, I wonder how well paint pen will stick to the polyester finish. Not very well, and not for long, is my guess.

I used a special pen, but I agree with you that it will not last very long. My idea is to use a very thin transparent foil, will see what I find in the next days...
