Hello everybody! Finally I got a brake and, as I promised to Sheldon, posting my bass pictures here. This is the first Dingwall in Russia. The number is 4016. Arrived in Moscow at December 2007. So, I guess, now the Russia is a member of a D-club too. :) Many thanks to Sheldon and Dingwall Sales, you guys have done a great job. Well, anyway, let

Hi Shty Welcome to the forum. I am glad that you feel the same way about Sheldon and Dingwall Sales like the rest of the friendly Ding-aholic crowd here. They are really top notch guys Very beautiful bass you got. Great top. And I am sure that it sounds better than everything else you've played. Enjoy!!!

Thank you, fullrange. The top looks great. BTW! This is the first bass of all I've seen who's body is as pretty from the behind (there are no top at all, just the core wood) as from the upper side (with Quilted maple 5A top)! (errr... little complicated, but I hope the meaning is clear :)) And my personal "thank you very much" goes to Sheldon for the beautiful natural finish. [quote:tvri79e7] And I am sure that it sounds better than everything else you've played.[/quote:tvri79e7] Yeap. I've shred with it's sound some Fender basses on occasion. :) And, you know, I understood that the jealousy is a very bad feeling. ;) My bass teacher keeps saying every lesson: "Wow! It has fantastic shape." And he owns Fodera bass (indeed not the last bass among others). :) [quote:tvri79e7] Enjoy!!![/quote:tvri79e7] Enjoying all the time. :)

Man, that's one of my favorite combinations of options, just stunning. I nearly ordered natural quilt for my Z3, but I decided my Dingwall collection needed more color at the time. :) Congrats, Shty. Mark

Hey Shty, Glad to see you on the board. I got curious about Russian pop music and looked up some videos on youtube. There's some really cool stuff coming out of your part of the world.

Mark[/quote:k2jk79t5] Due to some strange coincidence it is my favorite too. :) Z3 is simply a megabass... if I was going to place an order right now, be sure - there will be z3... Thanks. :)
Not for long, I predict.[/quote:k2jk79t5] Hmm... 1) I think not less than a year, due to production schedule... :) 2) And you know 8k$ is rather high price for bass... there are not so many professional musicians here who can afford themselves to buy such bass easily... for ex. I, myself, a programmer - that's my source of revenue :)
Hey Shty, Glad to see you on the board. [/quote:1mezx20b] I am glad too. :)
I got curious about Russian pop music and looked up some videos on youtube. It is hard to say that all of this songs are pure pop-music, and it is definitely hard to separate pop from non-pop. I chose a song if: 1. The song itself became a hit. 2. The video was shown at least several times on the one of a primary channels (and not at 3 am :)). 3. The band or the musician played the song 'live'. So, I think of a pop music in a broad sense of a word popular. Ok, here is the list (I couldn't find all original videos, so don't kick me in the head :)): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOJ6Sroi ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOb7OZkB ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7CzCAFY ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IejW3CxCUUo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_z1ms7u ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zqGFUfMmJQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNhzuUjbAzk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhgiU-PR ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQbvQVPZfEw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iv_tOuPn ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNI5eAWC ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRJ2pglRL18 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KHtwwkm ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbRne70Q ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kzi76tuk ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOzLCVcU ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1J5Hbi-Zcg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeZjHXK_ ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAGQdl5l ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hRC3C1n ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJd6Xf_P ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rB7gCo10iVU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbdBasVP_6k [this one is oldschool, but it was extremly popular in the early 90th] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP-vxwpsJWA [and a few oldschoolers :) more] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDMAHnld ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQz5YQbt ... re=related Hope this set will help you one way or another. :) 2All: If anyone are interested in continuation let me know. True. "total cost" = "bass price" + "delivery cost" + "customs tolls" + "customs broker reward :)". let's say bass price = ~5500USD delivery via UPS = ~900USD customs tolls = 30% of a bass price = ~1650USD (if you are in doubt I could post here customs papers scan, despite they are in russian the numbers still arabic :)) broker = ~200USD count it :)))
:o That's nuts. Sounds like robbery to me. Hey, Shty, you should move to The States if you are planning to buy more Dingwalls...and you will! :) [/quote:332v1gms] I call it: "logically incomprehensible". :) To States... maybe sometimes, who knows. :) Be sure that I am planning to buy one of D's. D-maniac (dingaholic, according to the other version) - that's what I am now. Planning to have at least AB-II and Prima. And thinking of SJ-5. :) Unfortunately things goes that way so that right now I have to spent some money on buying an upright bass (contrabass). But the Dingwall is always on my mind. :)
