Although I have plenty of reservations about tht tone of these instruments, 3D printing is a very cool technology that I've been investigating recently. Here's a link that was sent to me today:

http://globenewswire.com/news-release/2 ... ubify.html

and the link to the website:

http://cubify.com/store/creation_list.a ... =&creator=

They look cool, but for the price (for an unproven technology to boot!) I'll stick with Sheldon's guitars/basses (and longboards  ).

Already?! This technology really is exponential.

It is a lot of money - more than the price of a 3D printer and the materials to print the instrument body - but less than the price to commission a designer to design the thing.

Very impressive!
