The current control diagram for the Z3 shows the middle switch being used to toggle between 550/250 Hz for the mid frequency. However I've seen a video review where it says that this is the series/parallel switch for the middle pickup.. On my Z3 (late 2011) it appears to operate in the latter mode as when I select bridge or neck pickup it appears to have no effect.. Can you confirm whether I'm imagining this ? :-)

Where did you find that control diagram? We need to update it. The toggle switches are for series/parallel coil switching only.

on the bassdirect web site and your website.. I assumed it was serial/parallel switching since if I selected the bridge or neck pickup the switch made no difference... File attached...

On older Z3's, that toggle switch selects the mid frequency.

I have a Z1 fretless that has 3 toggle switches & I can't find a diagram that matches what I have. It also has the Glockenklang pre. Would this bass have the mid frequency select? Thanks!

No, yours is most likely a series/parallel switch.
