I want to offer this up here first before I list it on TB. I have a MINT 2006 Prima Artist Five string with Aguilar pre. Ultra low action, the condition is absolute mint, I can't find a ding or swirl on it anywhere. 10,000.00 FIRM, but I will entertain trade offers, specifically AB1 WPB flame or quilt, or the rarer AB1 green quilt. Also would entertain a new Super P, but if I sell this one, that's what I'm ordering the next day. I reserve the right to come to my senses and pull this as I'm pretty sure I will never get my hands on another Prima Artist. My Z2 gets most of the playing time, and it's a shame for this to just sit in the closet unplayed. Let me restate I won't be dissappointed if this doesn't sell, I don't need the money! I planned on my grandchildren fighting over this bass when I'm gone, but I would be happier knowing it's in the Dingwall community. Any questions feel free to message me, or if you need additional pics, I've got tons! On hold, deal pending. Keep shooting offers as this is not firm until money is in hand! Thanks, Jeff

This is just an exquisite instrument. I had the pleasure of playing it a while back. Whoever ends up with it will have no regrets. Good luck with the sale, Jeff.

Well, the trade fell through, so this one is wide open again. The asking price is a firm target, please no low ball offers. I'm specifically looking for cash as I want to spec out a new Super P with Dingwall Sales, but if you've got one and are already looking to upgrade, let's talk. Otherwise I am only interested in an AB1 of specific type and color. Thanks everyone! This one is so gorgeous, I would kill to get my hands on it. But I won't try to rob a bank. Too risky.

Man oh man Jeff! if you don't need the money why don't you just start saving up for the Super P and keep the Prima. Even if you are not playing it much right now I wouldn't want to see you have regrets down the road. You will never find another like this one......

The truth is, I don't play out anywhere but church now, and when I think about all the basses I own that don't get played it's sad to me. I've had a change of heart over acqusition, if I collect all the toys, what's the point? As much pleasure as this bass brought me, I think about how much joy someone else would have owning their own Prima Artist! Sheldon's ultimate expression of his art and skill! On the Super P front, I've got the money to order one, I am holding back as from what I read there will be some "tweaks" coming, especially on the neck. Right now they are using the Super J neck, I expect some mods coming down the road for the Super P neck in the near future, so I will be patient and see what develops.

You are really on the high road. Good for you, not many would take your position. Very philosophical....

I understand the "having all the toys" position. I have four lovely basses in my stable but they never get to stretch their legs. I twist between keeping them- just because they are nice to own; and selling them because I dont play as often as I would like. I would like the artist, but sadly the price is out of my league. Keep at it in church man, I've been a bass player more than 25 years but now I play drums in church, to let my young son learn his bass trade where I used to sit. Mic.

That was like watching a wreck in slow motion. Nnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooo.... Actually, I can relate on this issue, as I had the "Do I really need these?" discussion with myself prior to ordering my Dingwall. However, I quickly rationalized the existing ABG, fretless J, and Steinberger Q4 with TransTrem as being [i:33l0msla]so[/i:33l0msla] different from a 5-string Super P/J that I couldn't give them up. I'll revisit that decision in about a year....

Yeah, I had it out playing it Sunday night, my wife looks at me and asks, "why in the world are you selling that bass? You know you'll regret it one day." Little did she know I was already regretting it. I was actually thinking to go back full circle and buy back my first Dingwall, a 2004 AB1 WPB flame top. It suddenly came available right after I posted the PA for sale, so I was thinking, "hey synchronicity!" [img:j4jti9v5]http://i511.photobucket.com/albums/s354/rollerberg2000/Dingwall/100_3214.jpg[/img:j4jti9v5] This one started the obsession and the consequent obsolescense of nearly all my parallel fretted basses. I couldn't stop until I had the Prima Artist. And like the dog who chases the bus until he finally catches it, it was kind of like "now what"? I'll never take the PA to a gig, it would be like parking a Bentley amongst the beaters in a VFW parking lot. The thing is, it's perfect. I wish the prior owner had at least put a little buckle rash on it, or SOMETHING! This makes me a little squeemish about playing it, if that makes any sense. Even at church, I can picture a kid or even an adult stumbling into it on stage and knocking it over. Maybe that would actually be a relief, getting the first "ding" in my Dingwall! Anyway, thanks for putting up with my flip flopping and mindless ramblings.

Great looking bass, and likely good desicion to keep! I would love your thoughts on the difference in sounds between your Z, the PA, and the RR you have in the picture ( I have some experience with Z's AB's and the like- but have not had the chance to see/hear/play a PA and often think about if its the one for me) I have AB1, with AB2 glock, Z3 (x2), Sklar Z2, and have played combustions ABZ's and other AB1,2's and Z3's - so getting some thoughts on who the PA is comparitively would be of great interest to me (and perhaps others) again - it's a beautiful piece of art!
