I was wondering the price on the Z1 with the Jamaican colors. And what other specs are there and the prices on them. I'm new to Dingwall.

Greetings! Welcome to the message board and to the BEST basses in the world!

I'm not Barry (he's got way more hair than I), but I can certainly answer questions about this bass. I'm the one who ordered, paid and own the bass.

The off the shelf features:
-Dual density swamp ash body
-Standard Dingwall Bridge
-5 piece maple neck. 24 frets
-FD-3 pickups that are internally switchable between series/parallel
-Aguilar OBP-1 2 band preamp, 18v, wired with Sheldon's proprietary hybrid treble control.
-Switching: Pre on/off; neck pickup S/P; Bridge pickup S/P
-4 way rotary switch for Neck/Series/Parallel/Bridge settings
-See the Dingwall Z-series webpage for more specific info.

Custom options:
- Maple fingerboard (at the time a special order)/Poly finished neck
- Discontinued Voodoo body shape (with new carve details)
-Top wood: Spalted/Flamed maple (premium select wood option)
-Matching pickup covers from top wood, matching finish
-Matching headstock, also from top-wood.
-Block inlays at 5 & 12, black bordered, matching finish & inlay wood.

Also, you should know that Sheldon and I had a gentleman's deal on this configuration/body shape/finish, etc. so that this would be a one-off, at least for now, so you'd have to talk with him to see if that's still in effect. Also, I believe that some of the options I chose are no longer available on Zebra series instruments.

In terms of price, what I paid was based upon 2005 pricing and now would have no meaning in relation to the current price (I haven't seen one for a year or two). I will say that "it wasn't a budget bass"...in terms of cost...but it was a bargain in relation to the pleasure I get from it. Worth every single penny.

ps: the colors aren't actually the colors of Jamaica (Black, Yellow, Green) but the colors of Ethiopian flag Green-Gold-Red.

Hey Sam not sure why you didn't receive the price list in the past 2 emails. I have resent the price list to the new address you forwarded, in case you still have trouble opening it please forward me your phone # so that we can discuss getting you the bass that you want.
